# Change admin password on SonicWall TZ series via CLI

**Step 1**  
SSH into your router's using admin@router's ip ( [admin@192.168.168.168](mailto:admin@192.168.168.168))

**Step 2**  
Get into configuration mode by typing configure

**Step 3**  
Get into administration

**Step 4**  
Change the admin password by typing admin-password <old> <new>. Put your old admin password where <old> goes and vice versa for new
